Salaar Part 2 is reportedly set to go on floors by June 2027, according to a remark attributed to its director, Prashanth Neel. The remark came around Prabhas's 47th birthday, when, according to PTI, Neel visited the actor and a playful exchange between the two was shared online. None of the reports quotes Neel directly.

Reports carrying the remark appeared on 23 and 24 October 2026 in Pinkvilla, Sacnilk, Gulte and a Press Trust of India (PTI) report carried by Telangana Today. The sequel follows Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, a 2023 film. No official production schedule or release date has been announced.

What Neel Is Reported to Have Said

According to PTI, Prabhas jokingly asked Neel for a birthday gift, and Neel replied that the film is set to officially go on floors by June of the following year. PTI names Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films as the producer and says Neel will direct again, as he did the first film.

Pinkvilla reports that filming is planned for June 2027, with pre-production reportedly under way, and that this has raised hopes the sequel could go on floors next year. Gulte gives the same June 2027 timing.

Sacnilk reports that Prabhas reportedly said he wanted to see the Salaar sequel made, that Neel answered with the June plan, and that preparations are reportedly underway.

Timing, Setting and the Film's Background

Reports on the remark appeared between 8.17 pm and 8.26 pm IST on 23 October 2026, and PTI's version followed at 8.49 pm on 24 October.

Pinkvilla places the remark during a recent appearance alongside Prabhas, and presents the June 2027 date as a report rather than an official announcement.

Accounts of the setting differ. Sacnilk places the exchange during the promotion of the horror film 418, while PTI places it during Neel's visit to Prabhas on his 47th birthday, and says videos of the banter circulated online.

PTI reports that Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire earned over Rs 600 crore worldwide and was the highest-grossing Telugu film of its release year, and the third-highest-grossing Telugu film of all time.

Pinkvilla says the film, subtitled Shouryaanga Parvam, is set in the city-state of Khansaar and centres on childhood friends Deva and Vardharaja Mannar. When political betrayal threatens Vardharaja's rule, he turns to Deva for help, setting the stage for a fierce battle for the throne. Sacnilk expects the sequel to explore how the relationship between the two friends changes after the events of Part 1.

Other Prabhas Projects Named in the Reports

Gulte says Prabhas is expected to finish Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, by June 2027, after which he would be fully occupied with Kalki 2. Gulte presents this as an expectation, and says it would make it easier for him to juggle Kalki 2 and Salaar 2.

Sacnilk reports that Prabhas has officially joined the shoot for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and that director Nag Ashwin had already completed scenes with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan while waiting for him. Ashwin reportedly hopes to finish principal photography by mid-2027, with a theatrical release tentatively expected in 2028.

Pinkvilla says Spirit was reportedly postponed from 5 March 2027 to 23 October 2027. Pinkvilla says Fauzi is expected to arrive in early 2027.

Pinkvilla also names The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, which received a mixed response, among Prabhas's other films.

None of the four reports carries a response from Prabhas, Neel or Hombale Films on the June 2027 timing.

What Has Not Been Announced

Sacnilk says an official production schedule and a theatrical release date have yet to be announced. The June 2027 month is the only filming timing given for Salaar Part 2 so far, with no specific shooting date.

None of the four reports carries a response from Prabhas, Neel or Hombale Films on the June 2027 timing. Gulte says Neel's film with Jr NTR, Dragon, is due for release in June 2027, the same month as the reported start, and that reports in circulation suggest it may be made in two parts. Gulte does not confirm that.

Until a schedule is announced, the June 2027 start rests on the remark reported from the birthday exchange.
