Sreeleela Reportedly Named in Ajith Kumar's Dare Devil, With Filming Set for 12 November

Pinkvilla reported on 27 October that director Adhik Ravichandran named Sreeleela in Ajith Kumar's Dare Devil, with filming now set to begin on 12 November.

Pinkvilla reported on 27 October that Sreeleela has a key role in Ajith Kumar's next film, Dare Devil. The report says director Adhik Ravichandran named her in an interview with Behindwoods TV, alongside Parthiban, Prabhu and Sunil.

Adhik Ravichandran is directing the film and his wife, Shalini, is producing, according to the same report. Pinkvilla says the film is expected to be a family entertainer. Deccan Chronicle reported on 18 August that Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music. That would be his fourth collaboration with Ajith Kumar, after Vedalam, Vivegam and Vidaamuyarchi. The film was expected to go on floors soon, that report said.

Sreeleela's Reported Part

Adhik Ravichandran directed Good Bad Ugly, Ajith Kumar's last release in 2025, and this is their second film together. Pinkvilla describes Dare Devil as an action entertainer aimed at a wider audience than that film. Ajith Kumar gave the title, as he did for Good Bad Ugly.

The 27 October report says Adhik Ravichandran had earlier confirmed that his next directorial would reunite him with Ajith Kumar.

Pinkvilla credits the casting to Adhik Ravichandran's remarks in the Behindwoods TV interview. It describes Sreeleela as part of the film in a key role, and gives no further detail on what that role is.

The director also said the casting had drawn a lot of discussion and that the film holds several surprises. He said Ajith Kumar wanted Prabhu in the film, and that the two have a very good bond.

Her casting therefore rests on the director's remarks, and no statement from Sreeleela has been reported.

Shoot Start Moved to 12 November

Pinkvilla reports that filming was first expected to begin on 2 November. The schedule now appears to have moved to 12 November, after Diwali. According to the report, the Indian portions will be shot in Hyderabad, because filming was planned around Chennai's unpredictable weather.

A Pinkvilla report dated 29 September said the makers had confirmed that filming would begin in November 2026, with a theatrical release planned for 2027. Production was originally expected to start in early 2026.

Deccan Chronicle gave a different timeline on 18 August. It said principal shooting would begin in September 2026, which does not match the 2 November date Pinkvilla gives as the earlier expectation.

The team also plans to shoot in Thailand and Malaysia, the report says.

Earlier Cast Reports Remain Unconfirmed

Deccan Chronicle reported on 18 August that Mohanlal was no longer involved in the film over remuneration issues. The article noted that he had earlier had a cameo in Rajinikanth's Jailer. It said it was not sure how much truth there was to the report and was awaiting official confirmation from the makers. The Deccan Chronicle report came more than two months before the 27 October Pinkvilla report.

Pinkvilla reported on 29 September that Unni Mukundan, who appeared in Marco, was reportedly taking on the role Mohanlal had been expected to play. The report credited the tracker accounts Insplag and Movies Singapore. It also said Kichcha Sudeepa and Upendra were reportedly in talks, and Kayadu Lohar was reportedly expected as the female lead.

The makers have not officially announced the full cast. Neither Mohanlal nor Unni Mukundan has been quoted on the reports, and no official confirmation of either casting change has been reported. Both accounts remain unconfirmed.

Her casting therefore rests on the director's remarks, and no statement from Sreeleela has been reported.

Where the Reports Stand

Only the 27 October Pinkvilla report carries the director's own remarks on the cast, and it is the only one of these reports to mention Sreeleela. It is also the most recent of the three reports.

Shalini and Anirudh Ravichander are named in the reports, but neither is quoted on casting. No response from the makers is reported in the Deccan Chronicle account. The September Pinkvilla report says Shalini Ajithkumar is reportedly the producer, following reports of changes to the production setup.

Official confirmation of the cast has not been reported. Deccan Chronicle gives September 2026 for principal shooting, Pinkvilla's 27 October report gives 12 November after an earlier 2 November expectation, and Pinkvilla's 29 September report says November 2026.
