West Indies beat India by 24 runs in Hyderabad, levelling the T20I series 2-2 on Shai Hope's unbeaten 102 and Keemo Paul's 5 for 41. The decider is in Bengaluru on 17 October.

West Indies beat India by 24 runs in the fourth T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 14 October 2026. India chose to field first. Batting first, West Indies scored 247 for 3 in 20 overs, and India were all out for 223 in 19.3 overs.
Shai Hope's unbeaten 102 and Keemo Paul's 5 for 41 decided the match. The result levelled the five-match series at 2-2. The four completed matches have been decided by margins of 8 wickets, 6 wickets, 14 runs and 24 runs. The fifth and final T20I is at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 17 October.
Hope's Unbeaten 102 Set the Target
Shai Hope made 102 not out from 50 balls, with nine sixes and four fours. That is a strike rate of 204. He reached the century with two sixes off Nitish Kumar Reddy in the final over. West Indies' total of 247 for 3 left India needing 248 to win.
Sherfane Rutherford added 49 not out from 26 balls, with four fours and three sixes, a strike rate of about 188. Hope was named player of the match.
This was not Hope's first unbeaten 102 of the series. At Ranchi on 9 October he made 102 not out from 45 balls, and West Indies chased India's 249 for 5 with 252 for 4 in 18.3 overs. According to Outlook India, it was West Indies' highest successful T20I chase.
Outlook India's match report and ESPN's match summary give the same final figures for both innings. India's two defeats in the series came at Ranchi and Hyderabad.
Samson and Tilak Varma Scored but Wickets Fell
India's reply started with quick scoring. Sanju Samson made 56 from 23 balls, with six fours and four sixes, and Tilak Varma scored 43 from 25 balls. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 41 from 20 balls. Together, Samson and Varma made 99 runs from 48 balls.
Samson's strike rate in the innings works out at about 243, and Varma's at 172. Six fours and four sixes account for 48 of Samson's 56 runs.
India needed 248 to win, which meant a required rate of 12.4 runs an over at the start of the chase. According to india.com, India lost wickets at crucial moments and could not keep up with a required rate that kept rising as West Indies took wickets.
india.com describes Varma's and Reddy's innings as useful contributions. ESPN's scorecard summary lists Samson first among India's batters.
Keemo Paul's Five-Wicket Haul and India's Bowling Figures
Keemo Paul took five wickets for 41 runs in four overs. ESPN's match summary notes that he is the first West Indies bowler with more than one T20I five-wicket haul. Outlook India's match summary says the spell sealed the victory.
Gudakesh Motie took two for 13 in two overs, which is 6.5 runs an over. Axar Patel conceded 45 runs for one wicket in four overs, and Prince Yadav took one for 36 in four overs.
Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Yadav each conceded 52 runs in four overs, according to india.com. That is an average of 13 runs an over for each, and 104 runs between them in eight overs.
Paul's 41 runs in four overs works out at 10.25 an over, below the 12.4 India needed at the start of the chase. india.com says Paul's strikes put West Indies in control and denied India the partnerships it needed.
Outlook India's match report describes India as paying the price for bowling lapses.
The Series Has Swung Between the Two Sides

The fifth T20I is at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 17 October. Whichever side wins it will lead the five-match series 3-2.
Shai Hope made 102 not out from 50 balls, with nine sixes and four fours.
Hope's Century Record in T20 Internationals
Outlook India counts the Hyderabad innings as Hope's third T20I century. It describes him as West Indies' leading century-maker in the format, ahead of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis, who have two each.
The first came against Australia in 2025, unbeaten on 102 from 57 balls with eight fours and six sixes. The second came at Ranchi this month. All three ended unbeaten on 102.
The Hyderabad hundred came off 50 balls, five more than the 45 he needed at Ranchi. Outlook India describes the pattern as a sign of consistency.
ESPN's match summary calls the Hyderabad hundred his second century of the series and his fourth of the tour, a count that differs from Outlook India's.
Outlook India also says Hope is one of only two West Indies players with centuries in all three formats, alongside Gayle.
Arshdeep's Injury and India's New Zealand Schedule
The match reports point to three areas: the runs conceded by India's bowlers, the wickets lost during the chase, and Arshdeep Singh's fitness.
Outlook India reports that Arshdeep Singh retired out in the final over of India's innings after a shoulder injury.
The tour listing on Wikipedia records that Arshdeep was ruled out of the fifth T20I on 16 October with a shoulder injury, and that Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named as his replacement. The Bengaluru decider is five days before India's first match in New Zealand.
India's tour of New Zealand begins with the first of five T20Is at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Thursday 22 October. The second is at the same venue on Saturday 24 October. The third is at Wellington on 27 October, the fourth at Eden Park in Auckland on 30 October and the fifth at Seddon Park in Hamilton on 1 November, according to Yahoo Sports.
The ODI series begins on 4 November with five matches through 15 November. Two Tests follow, from 19 to 23 November and from 27 November to 1 December.
