Ranabaali, a Telugu film starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, was released on 16 October 2026. In the six days since, several outlets have reported its box-office collections, and their totals do not match. Pinkvilla says its figures are subjective trade estimates, not finalised collections.

Pinkvilla reported on 22 October, at 4:16 pm IST, that the film had a six-day total of ₹37.25 crore at the Indian box office. Its six daily figures, however, add up to ₹43 crore, and the Day 6 figure of ₹5.25 crore is marked as an estimate.

Opening Days in India and Overseas

The Week, published on 19 October at 4:49 pm IST and citing the tracker Sacnilk, gives India net collections of ₹9.25 crore on Friday, ₹7.30 crore on Saturday and ₹7.50 crore on Sunday. Its three-day India net total is ₹24.05 crore, with an India gross of ₹28 crore and an overseas gross of ₹8.90 crore. Its worldwide three-day total is ₹36.90 crore.

Hollywood Reporter India gives the same ₹9.25 crore for the opening day in India. Deccan Chronicle, reporting on 18 October and citing an unnamed distributor, puts the Telugu-states share at about ₹7 crore for that day and the day's net collections at around ₹9 crore.

For the second day, Deccan Chronicle reports a Telugu-states share of just over ₹5 crore. Pinkvilla's daily figures are ₹9 crore on Day 1, ₹7.75 crore on Day 2, ₹8 crore on Day 3, ₹5.75 crore on Day 4 and ₹7.25 crore on Day 5.

Where the Reported Totals Differ

Hollywood Reporter India, updated on 19 October at 2:33 pm, puts Ranabaali's worldwide total at ₹37 crore since release. It gives an India net of ₹25.81 crore for the opening weekend, which is higher than the ₹24.05 crore that The Week gives for the same three days. The same article also describes ₹37 crore as the opening-weekend worldwide figure, so the period it covers is unclear.

The Week's worldwide three-day total of ₹36.90 crore sits close to the ₹37 crore in Hollywood Reporter India, while the two India net totals differ by ₹1.76 crore. Pinkvilla's Day 1 figure of ₹9 crore is ₹0.25 crore below The Week's ₹9.25 crore.

Across the reports, India figures range from ₹24.05 crore over three days to ₹37.25 crore over six. Pinkvilla's ₹37.25 crore is an Indian box-office figure, while the ₹37 crore in Hollywood Reporter India is worldwide.

Pinkvilla's six daily figures total ₹43 crore, which is ₹5.75 crore more than the six-day total the article states. Its Days 1 to 5 add up to ₹37.75 crore. Pinkvilla does not say whether its daily figures are net or gross. Its Day 6 estimate is a 28% drop from Day 5.

Reception, Projections and the Distributor's View

Pinkvilla's summary line gives ₹43 crore to ₹45 crore for the entire run, while its body text gives ₹50 crore to ₹60 crore gross for the full run. The same article says Deverakonda's recent films have had disappointing receptions and describes the opening as on the downside.

Deccan Chronicle's unnamed distributor says the collections "need to pick up drastically" and that the film must perform well through the Dasara holidays. The distributor credits the Deverakonda and Mandanna pairing and pre-release promotions for the opening. Deccan Chronicle adds that Jailer 2 is still holding its ground and gives Ranabaali stiff competition.

The Week reports, as of 19 October, that the film was initially expected to open in Kerala on the same day as its main release. Reported distribution problems led to a last-minute postponement, and, as of 19 October, it had not yet opened wide in Kerala or other regional territories.

Pinkvilla's box-office figures, opening-day forecasts and lifetime projections are subjective trade estimates, not finalised or certified figures.

Budget and Background

Pinkvilla describes Ranabaali as an alternate-history period action drama set during the Great Madras Famine of 1876 to 1878, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. In its plot, a rebellious warrior rises from the oppressed masses to protect his people from tyranny and fights a ruthless commissioner.

The Week puts the production budget at an estimated over ₹100 crore. Pinkvilla describes the film as big-budget.
