Shah Rukh Khan's UNIFYD Brings Indian Music Festival to Abu Dhabi on 20 March 2027
Shah Rukh Khan's UNIFYD is a one-day festival at Etihad Live in Abu Dhabi, headlined by Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam and Karan Aujla. General tickets go on sale on 20 October.

Shah Rukh Khan has announced UNIFYD, a one-day Indian music festival whose debut edition is on 20 March 2027 at Etihad Live on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Gulf News reports that Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam and Karan Aujla will headline, alongside more than 15 artists across multiple stages. D'YAVOL Live and District are the producers, and tickets are sold through the District app.
General tickets go on sale at 10.30am UAE time on 20 October 2026, after an earlier presale for Emirates NBD cardholders. Abu Dhabi's official figures show that attendance at culture and leisure events rose in 2025, and The National reports that late 2026 could make the UAE's busiest concert season in years.
Line-Up and Format
Gulf News and ThePrint both name Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam and Karan Aujla as the headliners. Arijit Singh is known for Bollywood romantic hits, Karan Aujla for Punjabi music, and Sonu Nigam as a veteran playback singer. Latestly reports that Sonu Nigam is making his first music festival appearance.
The festival is a single day at one venue, Etihad Live on Yas Island. Gulf News says more than 15 artists will perform across multiple stages, and Fact Magazines calls Arijit Singh, Karan Aujla and Sonu Nigam the first confirmed performers.
The festival is aimed at audiences from India, the Middle East and the South Asian diaspora, according to Fact Magazines.
Shah Rukh Khan's Role and Stated Aim
Shah Rukh Khan is the curator. Gulf News calls him the festival's curator, and Fact Magazines says he will shape its artistic direction and creative vision. He says his years making films have shown how stories bring people together, and that music has the same power.
He says the festival will put India's most incredible artists on one stage for the first time, and that it promises a spectacle in scale, energy and grandeur. Latestly describes the festival as extending his storytelling approach from cinema to live music.
Fact Magazines describes the festival as focused on Indian music and culture. Gulf News says organisers have indicated expansion to other cities and international markets, and What's On says the festival has an ambitious goal to expand into new cities.
Ticketing Through the District App
Tickets will be sold through the District app, which Gulf News describes as the exclusive channel, so all buyers use that one platform. Emirates NBD cardholders can buy from 9.30am UAE time on Monday 19 October, which is 11am in India. The presale closes at 9.30am UAE time on Tuesday 20 October, which is also 11am in India.
General sale opens at 10.30am UAE time on 20 October, which is 12 noon in India. It starts one hour after the presale closes, so the two windows do not overlap. The general sale opens about five months before the festival on 20 March 2027.
Ticket prices have not been announced.
Producers, Partners and Abu Dhabi Backing
Gulf News says D'YAVOL Live and District produce the festival, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral. ThePrint names D'YAVOL Live as producer and District as the ticketing platform. Latestly lists the Department, Miral and Emirates NBD among the partners.
The two outlets describe Emirates NBD's role differently. Gulf News says the festival is in association with the bank, while ThePrint lists it as an associate partner.
Gulf News says D'YAVOL Live is part of the D'YAVOL Luxury Collective, co-founded by Shah Rukh Khan, his son Aryan Khan, Leti Blagoeva and Bunty Singh. ThePrint describes D'YAVOL Live as the collective's live entertainment division.
ThePrint describes Miral and Experience Abu Dhabi as state-owned tourism companies. By ThePrint's account, the festival brings together a live entertainment company, a ticketing platform, a bank and two state-owned tourism companies.
Abu Dhabi's culture and leisure events drew 4.2 million people in 2025, up 20% on the year before, across 252 events.
What Abu Dhabi's 2025 Event Figures Show
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi recorded 26.6 million visitors in 2025, according to figures carried by The National. Abu Dhabi's culture and leisure events drew 4.2 million people in 2025, up 20% on the year before, across 252 events.
The MOTN Festival drew 252,988 visitors, and four sold-out Coldplay concerts drew 193,470 people in total. Liwa Village drew more than 159,000, and the Abu Dhabi T10 cricket drew about 100,000.
Hotels hosted 5.9 million guests, up 2.2% on the year before, at 81% occupancy. Hotel revenue rose 19.5% to Dh9.1 billion, and holiday homes and glamping sites hosted 338,000 guests.
Cultural sites and libraries drew more than 8.6 million visits, with the Louvre Abu Dhabi at 1.4 million and Qasr Al Hosn at more than 843,000, up 22% on the year before. The department offered 115 cultural programmes over the year. More than 20 active cultural sites and libraries operate across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
International hotel guests rose 10% compared with 2024, and India posted the strongest growth among key source markets, at 22%, while Russia, the UK, China and Saudi Arabia ranked among the leading markets by volume.
The event totals cover festivals, concerts and sport, not only Indian music. Heritage festivals, including the Al Hosn Festival, the Traditional Handicrafts Festival and the Maritime Heritage Festival, drew more than 608,000 visitors together.
The department is also named as a collaborator on UNIFYD. Its undersecretary, Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, says in The National that Abu Dhabi continues to grow as a world-leading destination.
Touring Routes and a Crowded Calendar
Thomas Ovesen, chief executive of All Things Live Middle East, is quoted by The National saying the market is now so important that, if a couple of GCC shows were cut, a trip to India might not make sense.
Hassan El Kallini, regional director at Platinumlist, estimates that roughly 60% of major events sold on the platform have been postponed. The National reports that the late 2026 and early 2027 calendar could be one of the busiest in years, and attributes the backlog to the regional conflict, whose hostilities began on 28 February 2026.
Offlimits Festival moved from 4 April to 21 November, with Shakira and Jonas Brothers retained. Christina Aguilera's concert moved from 24 April to 25 September, and A1 and Music Travel Love from 28 March to April 2027.
Four other events were cancelled or shelved: a Yuja Wang recital, a Turandot production by China National Opera, a Wu-Tang Clan concert on 22 March and a Josh Groban concert on 27 March.
Mark Jan Kar, general manager of Coca-Cola Arena, says one-off shows and regional runs have been rescheduled to Q4 or Q1 of 2027, but world tours could not be rescheduled because of logistics, so some have become cancellations.
Paolo Petrocelli, head of Dubai Opera, says there is frustration when events are stopped only weeks before they are due. Bill Bragin of NYU Abu Dhabi Arts Centre says artists are eager to come for the 2026–2027 season. Osman Osman of Blu Blood Middle East says the challenge is covering rising travel costs as flights remain limited and fuel prices climb, but that the show must go on.
