Ingredients
- 1tsp Ghee
- 2tsp Coconut oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 2tsp biryani masala powder
- 1 onion
- 2 tomatoes
- 1tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 big size beetroot chopped
- 1/4tsp Turmeric powder
- 2tsp Chili powder
- 2tsp Coriander powder
- Salt to taste.
- 2 cups Water
- Chopped coriander leaves.
Instructions
- As always soak the basmati rice for 30 mins.
- Take a kadai or pan. Heat oil and ghee
- Add bay leaf allow it to roast
- Now add biryani masala powder and saute well.
- Add sliced onion and mix well. Cook until onion colour changes.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well. Keep the flame in medium and cook.
- After ginger garlic paste raw smell goes, add chopped tomatoes. Mix well and cook for 1min
- Add turmeric powder, chili powder and mix well.
- Now add chopped beetroot and cook for 2mins.
- Add salt to taste and cook for few mins.
- In this stage switch off the flame and transfer the mixture in rice cooker vessel.
- Don’t place electric rice cooker plate when we do pulao or biryani recipe.
- Place it in rice cooker and switch on. When we switch on the rice cooker, automatically warm mode indicates with light.
- Now add basmati rice and mix well. When you mix basmati rice with spatula, always mix gently so that rice wont broke.
- After mixing rice, add water. Now change the mode warm into cook.
- Allow to cook for a while. Add coriander leaves and close the lid.
- When pulao gets ready, it will show warm mode.
- After 10 to 15mins open the lid and serve.
Best Side dish for this recipe is cucumber onion raita with papad or chips.
