The soya curry recipe is a nutritional dish that is delightful. This soya curry combines onion, tomato, and curry leaves. This recipe is full of protein. This curry is perfect for kids and pregnant women. There are various versions of soya chunk curry. We can make this recipe in north Indian style or south Indian style. Today I made this in South Indian style. I have used coconut to make kurma, which will give it thickness.
About soya chunks
Soya chunks are also known as soya nuggets, meal makers, and soya wadi. Soya chunks are used instead of meat. Soya chunks are high in protein content. Soya chunks are low in fat and high in fiber. It is healthy for both the heart and digestion. Soya chunks are used in several recipes, including kurma, hot rice, biryani, curries, and pulao. Excellent side dish for chapati, puri, vegetarian pulao, and fried rice. Soya chunks are heavily processed, so we should consume them moderately.

- 2 onions
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 2tbsp Kulambu Podi
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 2tbsp Coriander Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup water
- 1 Potato
- 2 cup Soya chunks
- ½ cup Coconut
- 1tsp Fennel seed
- 3 small onion
- Few curry Leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure pan
- Add cumin seeds and saute well
- Add onion and cook until color change.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell goes.
- Now add all spice powders and cook until oil seperates.
- After few mins add water and mix well.
- Now add salt and simmer the flame
- Take a jar and add coconut, fennel seeds and onions. Grind fine paste. If needed you can add cashews. Keep it aside.
- Add potatoes and soya chunks and add water if needed.
- Add coconut paste and mix well.
- After adding coconut paste, curry will become thick so add little more water and adjust the consistence.
- Finally add curry leaves and close the lid.
- Pressure cook until 1 whistle. Switch off the flame.
- Open after pressure goes. Yummy Soya chunks curry ready to serve.
