Ingredients

2 cups cooked rice

5-6 tomatoes

2 tbsp ghee

1 tbsp gingelly oil or cooking oil

1 tsp groundnuts

1 tsp mustard seeds

1/4 Urad dal(Vulunda paruppu)

2 Oinios

1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

1/4 Turmer powder

2 tbs chili powder

1/2 cup water

Few curry leaves

How to make Tomato Rice

  1. Heat oil and ghee in a pan/kadai
  2. Add groundnut, mustard seeds and urad dal. Saute well
  3. Now add chopped onions and cook for few mins.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well. Ginger garlic paste is optional.
  5. After ginger garlic raw smell goes, add tomatoes and cook for 2 mins.
  6. Add turmeric powder and close the lid for a while.
  7. Open the lid and add salt and chili powder.
  8. Add one green chili and curry leaves. mix well.
  9. Pour water and cook until oil spreads.
  10. After pouring water close the lid and cook.
  11. Open the lid and check. If oil spreads then mix well and swtich off the stove.
  12. Now add cooked rice and combine well.
  13. Tomato rice is ready

Note
You can do this recipe directly in cooker and add raw rice and cook
If you dont want chopped tomatoes you can grind it into paste and cook.
