Sundal is a typical Indian dish. Very nutritious and yummy.

 Sundal is made from dals such as white chana dal, black-eyed dal, green dal, Karamani dal, and brown chana dal. Sundal is usually seasoned with mustard oil, red chilies, and curry leaves. The key ingredient in the sundal dish is coconut. This recipe is incomplete without coconut.

I made a white chana dal sundal. This is a very simple recipe. We must first soak the chana overnight and then pressure cook it for 5 to 6 whistles. Many people do many forms of sundal in varied versions. Today I’m going to show you a completely different variation that will be really tasty and have a wonderful aroma.

Chana dal sundal is not only delicious but also a very nutritious option with numerous health advantages. This white chana dal sundal is perfect for kids.

INGREDEINTS

  1. I cup White chana/Kabuli chana/Chana
  2. 4 tbsp grated coconut
  3. 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  4. ½ tsp Mustard
  5. Few curry leaves
  6. 2 Green chillies
  7. 1tsp Urad Dal
  8. 1 Small piece ginger
  9. Few Coriander leaves
  10. ¼ Hing powder
  11. Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take a mixy jar and add coconut, green chilies, ginger and coriander leaves.
  • Grind it coarsely without adding water. Set a side.
  • Take a pan or kadai. Add seasoning items and saute for few mins
  • Now add cooked white chana dal and mix well.
  • Add grinded coconut mixture and combine well. Simmer for few mins.
  • Add salt and again mix well.
  • Yummy and tasty chana dal sundal ready.

Notes

Soak Chana dal over night and pressure cook until 5 whitles
You can add baking soda for making soft
If you are not offering to God then you can add onion. Taste will be excellent.
